These trips really are a sports fisherman’s trip of a lifetime. “Reality Fishing Charters” will take you to some of the most remote and rarely fished sea mounts in the Coral Sea with pristine reefs, crystal clear waters and massive drop offs. The sea life around these incredible reefs has to be seen to be believed. Every type of sports and reef fish that you can imagine from Massive Dog Tooth Tuna, Yellow Fin Tuna, Giant Trevally, Wahoo to huge Coral Trout and Jobfish. These are catch and release sports fishing trips with great opportunities to capture some great photos of these epic fish.
The islands and lagoons will also give you a unique opportunity to view nature at it’s best with thousands of nesting sea birds, pure white coral beaches and an untouched natural environment. These islands are one of the only places you can land a GT from the beach!

9 Day Cato Reef Sports Fishing Trip Itinerary
Departure Day: All guests are to arrive at Bundaberg Port Marina between 3.00pm to 3.30pm and board the vessel at 4pm. The crew will show you where to stow your gear and give you a tour of the vessel before you meet the other excited guests on the back deck for some pre-dinner refreshments. Once all guests have arrived the Master will conduct a Safety brief before you all sit down to a fresh meal as we prepare the vessel for sea. We will depart Bundaberg Port Marina after dinner.
Day 1: This morning you awake to a hot breakfast and the opportunity to hook-up as we steam past the top of Fraser Island and out over the continental shelf. The crew keep you well fed and comfortable as you rig up your gear, discuss game plans and rest ready for tomorrow morning’s first session.
Day 2: By first light we are anchored behind Cato Reef and have your tender launched and ready for you to head out straight after breakfast to explore the pristine reefs.
The morning session is normally from 6:30am to 11:30am with lunch from 12:00 to 1:00pm. The afternoon session is 1:00pm to 4:30pm.
Afternoon snacks are served before the main meal at 6:00pm.
Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7: are all spent on location at Cato Reef with the opportunity for the following:
- Fish and troll the deep water out of your 4.3m tender;
- Fish and troll the lagoon out of your 4.3m tender;
- Explore the Island beaches;
- Popping off the beach and reef edges;
- Night fishing sessions off the Mother Ship each night;
- Relaxing onboard;
- Swimming & snorkelling the crystal clear waters around the reef;
Day 7: After an epic 6 days of fishing this remote reef we sit down to our last dinner at Cato Reef and review the photos from the week. The crew recover all tenders and after dinner and a few laughs we stow the ship and start to head back to Bundaberg.
Day 8: Today gives you the chance for a big sleep-in as we steam home. The troll lines are out for the afternoon session as you enjoy a few quiet drinks and swap stories from the week.
Day 9: We will arrive back in Bundaberg Port Marina around 5am where a hot breakfast is served. The crew assist you with your gear before we farewell all guests around 8am.

9 Day Wreck Reef Sports Fishing Trip Itinerary

Day 2: By first light we arrive and anchor behind Bird Island which is at the most eastern end of the Wreck Reef group. The tenders are launched and ready for you to head out straight after breakfast to explore the pristine reefs.
The morning session is normally from 6:30am to 11:30am with lunch from 12:00 to 1:00pm. The afternoon session is 1:00pm to 4:30pm.
The Chef will have afternoon snacks ready before the main meal is served at 6:00pm.
Day 3: After spending the first day exploring the reefs around Bird Island and having the opportunity to walk on this remote sanctuary we move west to Porpoise Cay. (The site was made famous by “Matthew Flinders” in 1803) The tenders follow Big Cat and meet up at this new site for lunch. This afternoon is spent exploring the amazing fishing grounds around Porpoise Cay and surrounding reefs.
Day 4: Today you have a full day to work the deep waters on either side of the cay and fish all areas around the reef edges.
Day 5: After tenders are away safely Big Cat again moves west to West Islet to meet all tenders for lunch. West Islet is made up of three main reefs and is located at the most western end of the Wreck Reef group.
Day 6 & Day 7: The passage plan remains flexible however the last two days are normally spent around West Islet which offers spectacular deep drop offs and crazy bommie formations.
Day 7: After an epic 6 days of fishing this remote reef, we sit down to our last dinner at Wreck Reef and review the photos from the week. The crew recover all tenders and after dinner and a few laughs we stow the ship and start to head back to Bundaberg.
Day 8: Today gives you the chance for a big sleep-in as we steam home. The troll lines are out for the afternoon session as you enjoy a few quiet drinks and swap stories from the week.
Day 9: We will arrive back in Bundaberg Port Marina around 5am where a hot breakfast is served. The crew assist you with your gear before we farewell all guests around 8am.

9 Day Kenn Reef Sports Fishing Trip Itinerary
Departure Day: All guests are to arrive at Bundaberg Port Marina between 11.30am to 12.00pm and board the vessel at 12.30pm. The crew will show you where to stow your gear and give you a tour of the vessel before you meet the other excited guests on the back deck for some refreshments. Once all guests have arrived, the Master will conduct a safety brief and depart for sea as you settle into your accommodation. The afternoon is yours to enjoy with trolling on the back deck, chatting with keen fisherman or just relaxing as we steam east. The Chef will have a fresh meal served at 6pm as the sun goes down before you have a good nights sleep.

Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7: Kenn Reef is a large reef system located on top of an isolated sea mount which offers good protection from SE weather. This place has amazing history of ship wrecks from the 1800s with some old artefacts still visual today.
The fishing grounds are fantastic from shallow reef flats to 1,000m drop offs, this reef country has something for every keen sports fisherman so bring your big gear. You will have 6 full days to explore this amazing location with the opportunity for the following:
- Fish and troll the deep water out of your 4.3m tender;
- Fish and troll the flats out of your 4.3m tender;
- Explore the coral cays;
- Popping off the cays and reef edges;
- Night fishing sessions off the Mother Ship each night;
- Relaxing onboard;

3.) 3 Day Bunker Group Line Fishing Trip Itinerary
This 3 Day 4 night line fishing trip is ideal for all levels of fisherman and a great trip to enjoy with all your mates. Reality Fishing Charters will take you to one of the beautiful reefs in the Bunker Group for you to explore. This reef system is full of life with nice sized Coral Trout, Red Throat Emperor and Spanish Mackerel just waiting for you.

Big Cat is well set up for this remote expedition with spacious dining and living areas, large fishing decks, 7 x 4.3m fishing tenders and a designated rescue vessel. Departure Day: All guests are to arrive at Bundaberg Port Marina between 3.00pm to 3.30pm and board the vessel at 4.00pm. Once all guests have arrived the Master will conduct a safety brief before you sit down to a freshly cooked meal from our onboard Chef. After dessert we will depart Bundaberg Port Marina at about 7 pm and steam north overnight to Fitzroy Reef, Sykes Reef or Lady Musgrave Reef.
Day 1: At first light we arrive at Fitzroy Reef (or nearby reefs) where we anchor up and you enjoy a hot breakfast. After you are comfortable with the tender and you have all your gear together you will have the opportunity to explore the reef yourself for the first morning session. First tender is normally in the water by 7am. All tenders return back to Big Cat by 11:30am where the diligent crew clean and fillet your catch, cryovac seal it before freezing in the freshness while you sit down to a hearty lunch.
After lunch you will again have the opportunity to fish the reef from the tenders until around 4:30pm. After all the tenders are back the crew again look after your catch while you have the chance to freshen up before dinner. The evening meal is served by 6pm followed by dessert every night. After dessert, you can enjoy a night fish or settle in for a good night’s sleep.
Day 2: You wake up to a hot breakfast and the the crew preparing your tender for a full day of fishing. Fish your own way and have the freedom to explore this amazing reef.
Day 3: Today gives you another opportunity to fish the reef edges or troll the deeper water. After lunch the day is yours to make the most of the final session. Around 4:30pm tenders are recovered back onboard while the guests enjoy sunset drinks and snacks on the back deck chatting to their new mates. Big Cat will then head south steaming overnight returning to Bundaberg.
Day 4: We will arrive at Bundaberg Port Marina around 6am where a hot breakfast will be served. The diligent crew will assist you with your gear and catch before we farewell all guests around 8am. If you don’t have an esky, ice and foam boxes are available for purchase to transport your fish home.

4.) Weekend Reality Reef Stay
This 3 night, 2 day adventure is ideal for all members of the family and is a perfect way to enjoy the Great Barrier Reef. Reality Fishing Charters will take you to the beautiful reef lagoon of Lady Musgrave Island.
Join us on a unique reef stay experience and be one of the select few to enjoy the calm waters of Lady Musgrave lagoon over an amazing weekend of fun and adventure. You will have the opportunity to live on our 25 metre vessel Big Cat Reality and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.
Treat yourself and enjoy the many activities on offer, including island walks. reef and lagoon fishing, swimming and snorkelling with turtles, stand up paddle boarding and sitting on beautiful white coral beaches.
Our onboard chef will look after all your meals from hot breakfasts, morning teas, fresh lunches, afternoon nibbles at sunset and tasty two course meals each night. Accommodation is fully air-conditioned with bunk style beds, fresh linen and bath towels provided. All guests will have access to one of the seven 4.3m tenders giving you the exclusive opportunity to explore the lagoon at your own pace, go fishing with a mate, enjoy an early morning troll on the reef or discover your personal secret snorkelling spot. The tenders really give you the freedom to enjoy this incredible place.
To add to the attraction from November to January, the mother turtles come ashore to nest on Lady Musgrave Island. From January to March the tiny hatchlings take their first flips towards the sea. To experience this event it is truly memorable and something you will never forget.
Reef Stay Itinerary
Departure day Friday: All guests are to arrive at Bundaberg Port Marina between 4 to 4:30pm. (Guests board at 5pm) The crew will show you where to stow your gear and give you a tour of the vessel before you meet the other guests on the back deck for some afternoon refreshments. Once all guests have arrived the Master will conduct a vessel safety brief before you sit down to a delicious meal as we prepare the vessel for sea. After dessert and everyone is settled in we depart the marina around 10pm and we steam north overnight to Lady Musgrave lagoon.
Day 1 Saturday: At first light we arrive at Lady Musgrave Island and enter the calm waters of the lagoon where we secure the vessel to our own mooring facility. Hot breakfast is served as you wake up to this magical place. After breakfast, the day is yours to enjoy. All activities and events will be marked on the board and the crew will be there to assist.

Day 2 Sunday: The fun continues with you setting the pace and maximising your experience. Sunday afternoon we move Big Cat Reality to a new spot near the island to enjoy our last sunset before dinner. Tonight after dessert the guests settle into bed as we head south.
Day 3 Monday morning: We arrive back at Bundaberg Port Marina at first light where you enjoy a great hot breakfast. The crew will assist you with your gear before we farewell all guests around 8am.
